National Show

Hamilton
13 and 14 August 2011

The Show was held in the Hamilton Gardens Pavilion
There were 1283 blooms of varying colours, shapes and sizes exhibited and these presented an eye catching display.
The Champion Bloom of the Show was a magnificent large pink Reticulata called Winter's Own exhibited by Dianne and Harvey Howard from Marlborough. They were presented with the Bethwaite Memorial Trophy. They also won six other trophies for the best blooms in their classes. Our Congratulations are extended to both Dianne and Harvey for yet again having a very successful show and in particular for winning the Champion Bloom of the Show
.
The Best Novice Bloom of the Show was a magnicient red Japonica called Wildfire exhibited by Jim and Ivy Urlich from Whangarei. They were presented with the Iris Gittings Novice Trophy. They also won another trophy for the best bloom in its class. Congratulations to Jim and Ivy for winning the top Novice Bloom.
We were honoured to host Pat Short the International President of the Camellia Society and her husband Herb from London. They were very impressed with our show, and appreciated the hospitality they received while in New Zealand.
The Show was well supported by our members and the people of Hamilton. It was a very successful event.

This one day Show will be held in the Palmerston North Convention Centre.
Once again members of the public will be able to enter their blooms in the Novice Class.
For our members there will be dinners on the Saturday and Sunday evenings with the prizegiving on the Sunday.
On the Sunday there will be a organised garden your.
